Firefox are planning to set a Guinness World Record by orchestrating a download day for their much anticipated (not by me) Firefox 3. You can go to their website and read more about it, and maybe participate in the pledge yourself and sign up for a reminder. I did. Not sure why, knowing that I don’t use firefox… I think I just wanted to be part of this thing! :D

Up to now There are 244 Kuwaiti pledges.

Häagen-Dazs Fondue

20 05 2008

Posted By Mishary.

Yesterday after ANM’s birthday we went to the Avenues and wanted to taste Häagen-Dazs Fondue, so we went there and placed an order. BTW its in the Avenues phase II.

Its says that it serves 4 persons in the menu, but actually it serves only 2 (Kuwaiti person) you know what i mean by Kuwaiti .. ya3ni etha 7ag 4 beseer bas e7alfoon 3alaih :P

It comes with 2 large plates

First plate contains:

  • Strawberry.
  • Kiwi.
  • Banana.
  • Brownie.
  • Cookies.

Second Plate contains:

4 choices of their ice cream flavor.

The ice cream melt so quickly if you dip it in the chocolate sauce, so beware. I think it deserves 2/5 due to the cheap tasting chocolate sauce.

FYI: they are accepting cash only at the moment.

ANM’s Birthday Gifts

19 05 2008

Posted By Mishary.

Today was ANM’s birthday .. i decided to drag her into Mac world! just to let her know what it feeels like to be a mac owner! (poor windows users) so me & my wife decided to do a little surprise in this birthday :P and my wife came with a brilliant idea!

Which is wrapping the macbook with a peace of fabric and on top of we put some paper shreds so that the macbook will be completely covered and not be seen, and then on top of that we put perfumes and bokhoor and mobkhar.

Here is the final look of the box when its opened .. No a single clue that the macbook is in the bottom! :P

Now when it comes to wrapping i wont say anything just that simply my wife is a PROFITIONAL in gift wrapping.

HNM’s gift .. Also wrapped by my wife.

INM’s gift.. i think girls will know this where is this gift from and even what it is :P

Now guys what do u think ANM’s reaction was after opening our gift?! well, she flashed a fake smile with a fake “wow”, thanked us and went ahead to open INM’s and HNM’s gifts with a Huge real WOWs!

After that I suggested that they go get ready to have dinner in the Avenues (to let her really lose hope), before we went out of the door i told to her to take her stuff to her room and she said was like “Okay..”. and while she’s grabbing the perfumes i decided to help her out a bit.. so that i uncover the macbook by mistake ya3ni 3eshtaw bakoon chenaa madreeey!! :P so i grabbed it and did it. and her reaction was priceless.. she SCREAMED! “A MACBOOK?!!!! For ME?! i knew it i knew it that the perfumes were not a real gift” then started crying! Laish madrey?!!! :P Bs sij it was a hell of a fun!

Anyway Happy birthday ANM and we wish u all the best :P

Off To Vote

17 05 2008

Posted By Yousef

My friend told me that its best to go vote either first thing in the morning or around lunch time. Thats when its supposed to be the least crowded. Thats what he said.. we’ll see. :)

When are you going to vote? it ends today you know.. :P

Update:

Apparently my friend told the rest of Kuwait about the perfect timing too. Half the population of Kuwait was standing in my line alone, which coincidently was the slowest moving line of them all. The people behind me (2 old men) cracking jokes and counting every second did not help at all! I tried to drift away in thoughts so that time passes a bit faster but they were always there to pull me back with their endless annoying meaningless chatter!

Guy1: you know its taking 5 minute for each person?
Guy2: 10 minutes.
Guy1: yeah about 10.
Guy2: and we have about… hmm 1,2,3…. *counts* approximately 40 in front of us. thats 400 minutes!
Guy1: oh wow! 400 minutes are like.. hmm… 4 hours!!!

At that point I just wanted to get up and leave, But thank God I managed somehow to block them away for the remaining time I was there. 2 hours and 10 minutes later I was done.

Hopefully some of the people I voted for win.

Mariah Got Hitched

8 05 2008

Rumors have been circulating in the media all through last week about this surprise wedding. Now its confirmed, she got married to Nick Cannon, and who’s a better source of confirmation than the big O herself?

To watch today’s episode of Oprah where she and her friends discuss the marriage, Click here.

I knew something would get in my way of seeing Mariah in Dubai. I just knew. Now watch her cancel the show and the promoters refund our money.

Edit:

Just as predicted, the concert got canceled and they’re refunding our money.

My Nephew’s 1st Birthday

7 05 2008

Posted By Yousef

One year ago yesterday, a little boy came into this world oblivious to the fact that he’s got the greatest uncle in the world. :P

The cake tasted good. It’s from Mr Baker. They did a good job and I liked the packaging (cardboard and cellophane tightly wrapped and stapled together). I remember when we were little, Mom used to buy our birthday cakes from a bakery in Nuzha, We tried to remember the shop’s name (its no longer there btw) but couldn’t. Do you remember its name?

We all bought birthday presents for the little guy and when it was time to unwrap the gifts, the boy was in cloud #9 and we ended up opening the gifts without him lol.

This one’s mine

This is Labeba’s

And this is Mom’s

There is also a little message from Mom to the baby boy engraved on the back of the chair :)

If you like the chair and want to know more about it then you can click on this post for all the details.

*inhales*

HAPPY BIRTHDAAAAAAAAAY HAMMOOOOOOOOOOOODDDYYYYY!!!! :D

*coughs*

At Kuwait’s Boat Show

6 05 2008

Posted By Yousef

We went to the Boat show in Al Koot Mall last friday. Now I know nothing about boats but I really liked it, I thought it was very nicely organized and the people seemed to enjoy their visit.

The show was divided to 3 areas, one was in the fountains’ area, they built a little wooden bridge on top of the water that takes you all around that section of the show (as shown above). It looked very nice. The 2nd area was in the Marina in front of the fountains facing the sea (shown below) and the last area was near starbucks, just outside the mall.

This boat looked amazing.

I want to try this one day.

The boat I liked the most!

One of the better moments I had in this show was with this picture here (I took around 7000 pictures just to get 1 right). I’m not really a fan of boats, can you tell? :P

You better click here to read the rest of this post and see the other pictures
